Six Out of Seven Companies Get the Nod for 24-Hour Online Gambling

Earlier today, New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement issued approvals for six companies to begin 24-hour operation of their new Internet gambling sites.

Seven companies have received Internet Gaming Permits, and all were approved for 24-hour operation except Golden Nugget, which is apparently still working through issues found during the soft launch testing period over the last few days.

But for the other six casino companies, it’s all systems go, effective immediately!

Even so, there may be a good reason to wait a while before signing up at the sites.  Earlier this month, the DGE issued guidance to the casinos on Internet marketing bonuses.  The casinos are allowed to offer extra bonus money for sign-ups, but programs that use a “wagering-based restriction on funds” cannot be offered until at least 30 days after Internet gambling is available to the public.  (Here’s the actual letter from DGE.)  What this means for you is that the best signup bonuses and offers won’t be available until then.  In the meantime, there may be some small signup offers, but I suggest waiting.  I think the wait will be well rewarded.

I will be heading to both New Jersey and Delaware in a couple of weeks to do in-person testing of the games, despite the bonus situation.  After my trip, I will be producing full in-depth reviews of all the offerings.  Sign up for my newsletters to be sure that you get all the details.  For desktop users, the sign-up form is on the right side of this page.  If you’re on a mobile device, scroll down to the end to find it.

I’m excited about this.  Finally, real online casinos in the US.  Fair, regulated, trustworthy.  It’s a nice early Christmas gift.
